  1. This competition is run by Appletiser (Pty) Limited ("Appletiser") and is open to all residents in South Africa except the employees of Appletiser and their immediate families, Appletiser's advertising and promotion agencies and associated companies, and outlet owners and their immediate families and staff.

  2. The rules may be amended by reasonable notification at any time during the competition, and will be applied and interpreted as the sole discretion of Appletiser. Participation by the entrants constitutes acceptance of these rules.

  3. The competition starts on 1 August 2010 and ends on 30 November 2010.

  4. The main prize is a trip for the winner and a friend to Cannes during the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France worth R200 000. There are also instant-win prizes to be won, including 2000 Look & Listen DVD vouchers, entitling the bearer to an online DVD voucher to a maximum value of R180 and 18 000 music download vouchers, entitling the bearer to a maximum value of R30 worth of music downloads. Participating venues are all contracted to redeem the winning vouchers. Appletiser, its agents and distributors cannot be held responsible for any subsequently declining acceptance of the vouchers for reasons of the participating venues own.

  5. To participate, entrants must purchase a 330ml can of Appletiser, Red Grapetiser, White Grapetiser or Peartiser at participating outlets and SMS their unique PIN code under the pink pull tab to 42037. Entrants will receive an instant reply SMS informing them of whether or not they have won an instant prize. If they have won, they will receive a winning code in the SMS.

  6. Each SMS entry costs R2.00. A portion of this charge will be donated to Pink Drive, with Appletiser matching the donation for every entry received. Appletiser's donation is limited to R250 000.

  7. Instant-win prizes must be redeemed by phoning 0861114861 and must be redeemed by 31 July 2013.

  8. All SMS entries will be entered into the grand prize draw. A random selection of 50 preliminary finalists from the SMS entries will proceed to play the "Appletiser Cannes Quiz" online at www.appletiser.co.za. These preliminary finalists are required to complete the "Appletiser Cannes Quiz" within the pre-selected time period of 4 working days from date of notification.

  9. The 50 preliminary finalists will be drawn and notified telephonically on 6 December 2010.

  10. From the 50 preliminary finalists, the finalist with the highest score will win the main prize.

  11. The winner will need to present a valid passport as an ID document when claiming the prize. The winner and a friend must be able to travel to Cannes during the Film Festival, between 11 and 22 May 2011.

  12. It is the responsibility of the main prize winner to ensure he/she and a friend are in possession of a valid passport. Appletiser will cover the costs of the VISA application fee but the onus remains upon the winner to apply for the VISA as well as to attend the required interview. Appletiser cannot be held responsible if the winner or the friend is denied a VISA.

  13. Appletiser will cover the costs of the return flight to Cannes, accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, airport transfers and a per diem allowance. All other ancillary costs are at the winner's own expense.

  14. Appletiser reserves the right to withdraw or amend any details without notice.

  15. The main prize cannot be exchanged for cash

  16. Appletiser reserves the right to select alternative winners in the event they believe that any winners have contravened any of these Terms and Conditions. Appletiser's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  17. The instant rewards are non-transferable, for sale or redeemable for cash.

  18. All entrants and winners indemnify Appletiser, its associated and subsidiary companies, and its directors, officers, employees and agents, against any and all claims for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever from their participation in any way howsoever in this competition.

  19. All instant reward bookings must be made in advance and using the 'Personal Assistant' service. (This is essential and a pre-requisite for offer redemption).
